Making of DGB-1
HOW IT STARTED WITH A MOVIE
In 1983, the Seiko G757-5020 was introduced in yet another Bond movie, Octopussy. What began as a movie prop eventually became a significant part of watchmaking history.

As always, Bond was thrown into a thrilling adventure. Issued by Q, a watch, as one of his essential gadgets if not the most. To track down the MacGuffin of this very movie. The Fabergé egg. As well as doing what a watch supposed to do, to time! To synchronize with the bomb's denation and disarm right before it goes off.

Aside of the plots, something more captured a certain group of enthusiasts' attention. It's this digital, angular and cutting-edge of a timepiece. Unlike anything else commonly seen on commercials or even big screen. And decades later, that watch would still be remembered by few. Not because it appeared in a Bond film. But because it represented a glimpse of the future back when. A vision that never arrived. And still, eventually inspired the birth of DIGIBORG.
GOLDEN AGE OF DIGITAL OPTIMISM
Over the years, enthusiasts gave it an unofficial nickname: DIGIBORG. Yet what fascinated us was never the watch alone. It was the mindset behind it. The confidence. The experimentation. The belief that technology could be bold, visible, and exciting. This timepiece only became iconic because it captured the spirit of an era when the future still felt tangible.
In fact, the late 1970s and early 1980s transformed the watch industry forever. A new kid in the block challenged centuries of mechanical tradition. Against the Swiss folks high up in clouds. That we all now know as the "Quartz Crisis".
Digital displays redefined what a watch could be. Engineers experimented fearlessly. Designers imagined new possibilities and boundaries. For a brief moment, the future seemed limitless. Technology was no longer unfathomable. It became something people could easily wear on their wrist.

A FUTURE PROMISED NEVER ARRIVED
Make no mistakes, technology advancement waits for no one. Soon as you blinked, everything can change in a heartbeat. Poof, displays became brighter, processors became faster, devices became smaller.
Yet somewhere along the way, the excitement faded. The "future" became mundane, ordinary and boring. Consumer products became interchangeable. Machines, devices and equipment lost their personality. The world became more connected than ever, yet somehow less inspiring.
We can't help but wonder: what happened to the future we were promised. That it died like every single coin battery eventually does?

FROM SILVERWAVE TO DIGIBORG
There was a time when names like SilverWave, represented the fine combination of both worlds. An elegant timepiece capable of being dressy and sporty at the same time.
Quartz accuracy, digital functionality, more than decent water resistance. And that, that is what Seiko G757 "SilverWave" edition have achieved. As the Japan variant and quite possibly the domestic only variant.

These innovations once stood at the frontier of watchmaking. However, today as we stand, technologies no longer surprise us. Regrettably, that is the fate of many successful technology. But great design works differently. They survive long after technology becomes ordinary. The inspiration behind those early innovations continues to guide us today. Therefore, DIGIBORG came to life, because we believe that spirit is still worth preserving.

WHY DIGIBORG
DIGIBORG was established as a newborn sub-brand derived of SKXMOD. Being its direct inheritance, DIGIBORG provides quality built watches sharing the same traits as SKXMOD did. They are all dedicated to develop premium parts. All revolved around the modification of electronic watches. Accumulated excellent reputation throughout various community and platforms. As a completely built watch solution brand, DIGIBORG allows customers to more conveniently obtain diverse, practical and last but not least build to last quality timepieces.
Many watches look backward. We, DIGIBORG, at the same time look forward. Our goal was never to simply recreate an old watch from the past. Instead, an alternative timeline reimagined. A timeline where digital watch designs continued evolving without compromise.
What would those watches look like then? DIGIBORG, is our answer. Vintage soul and yet modernly made. A distinctly contemporary interpretation of retro-futuristic design.

TECHNICALITIES

From the amazing hardware, such as sapphire crystal with AR coating on top, 200 meters water resistant stainless-steel construction, 1,000HV harden surface that prevents minor scratches. To the easy access and maneuver display interface. Every single one of these carefully selected designs and parts. They were all made with long-term wearability as the first and foremost goal.

Quick release spring bars on both end of the bracelet. Easy access to swap in and out different straps.

Shaker head screws, attach each and every solid link of the bracelet together. Excellent protection against self-detaching from constant wear, not regular screwed-on bolts can compare.

Milled out solid clasp with on-the-fly quick adjustment. Adds total 8mm of length to wrist circumference when slided to the max.

THE DETAILS MATTER
The interlaced surfaces between brushing that fine as satin and polishing reflects like a true mirror. The feeling of a button, for every single actuation while pressing it in, whether it's being smooth or not. Or the way light hits on the metal surface and burst into a waterfall of iridescence.
Many of these details go unnoticed easily in watch making. That is precisely why they matter. Great watches are defined by these very details.

MODERN HEART RETRO SOUL
Vintage digital watches are charming. However, they are also increasingly difficult and costly to obtain, not to mention to maintain. Rare watch, rarer spare parts.
DIGIBORG combines the emotional appeal of vintage digital layout in its closest form. With the practicality of a modern module.
Designed to be worn every day rather than preserved in a display case.
Reliable. Serviceable. Easy to live with.
